Moving with Your Green Family

Moving with Your Green Family

If your home is filled with greenery pothos, monstera, snake plants, succulents, or a balcony garden theyre not just decoration. Theyre a part of your lifestyle. At Parrocat Move, we understand how much you love your plants, and we know that moving them safely in a city like Shanghai isnt always easy.

Heres a practical guide made for expats and plant lovers living in Chinas urban environment.

1. Let Us Know in Advance if Youre Moving Plants

Many movers ignore plants but we dont.

Let us know ahead of time:

·- How many plants you have

·- Whether any are tall, delicate, or sun-sensitive

·- If any ceramic pots require extra care

Well bring plant-safe plastic crates or trays to help transport them securely.

2. Prepare Plants 23 Days Before the Move

·- Water 12 days before moving (not on the day itself) to avoid heavy, soggy pots

·- Prune dead leaves or extra branches to keep plants compact

·- Clean off dust or pests so they arrive fresh and healthy

·- If using heavy ceramic pots, let us know if lifting tools are needed

3. Keep Plants in A/C Cabins Not the Truck

In Shanghais summer or winter, truck cargo holds can be too hot or cold.

We typically:

·- Transport plants inside the air-conditioned cabin when possible

·- Avoid stacking anything on top of plant containers

·- For fragile species like orchids or succulents, you can carry them yourself well help pack and stabilize them

4. Unpack and Settle Plants First

Once you arrive at your new home:

·- Unbox your plants as soon as possible

·- Place them in a well-ventilated area with indirect sunlight

·- Avoid balcony exposure on day one, especially in summer or winter

·- Water lightly after 12 days once theyve adapted to new air and light

5. Dont Rush to Repot

Your plants just took a journey. Let them rest for 710 days before repotting or fertilizing.

6. Need Boxes? We Offer Free Reusable Crates

For small potted plants, trays, or plant stands, we can provide free reusable plastic boxes.

Theyre eco-friendly, stackable, and keep your green belongings organized during the move.

7. Our Team = Plant Lovers Too

Our bilingual movers have helped countless expats, designers, teachers, and families move their green spaces around Shanghai.

We treat your plants with the same care we give to your furniture and sometimes more gently!
