Moving Day To-Do List
Stay organized, stay calm, and move with confidence.
Moving day can feel hectic — but with a clear checklist, everything becomes more manageable. Here’s a quick list of things to check off before your movers arrive or before you lock the door one last time.
1. Final Room Check
·- Look through every drawer, cabinet, balcony, and storage nook
·- Make sure all boxes are sealed and labeled
·- Don’t forget the fridge, under the bed, and the washing machine
2. Pack Your Essentials Bag
·- Phone & charger
·- Passport, ID, lease contract
·- Basic toiletries and daily medication
·- One change of clothes
·- Pet or child care items
3. Confirm with Your Movers
·- Double-check arrival time, address, and contact number
·- Let them know about stairs, elevator access, or any oversized items
·- Point out boxes that are fragile or need special attention
4. Prepare Your Large Items
·- Defrost and wipe down your fridge in advance
·- Disconnect washer hoses and drain any water
·- Disassemble any large furniture if needed
·- Tie up loose cords and secure electronics
5. Clean and Shut Down the Old Place
·- Turn off electricity, water, and gas (if needed)
·- Take out the trash and do a quick wipe-down
·- Check that all lights, outlets, and windows are off or closed
·- Take a few photos for records (especially if renting)
6. Meet and Guide the Moving Crew
·- Show them the elevator, stairs, and best access point
·- Give a quick tour: which rooms to start with, any heavy/fragile items
·- Mark or point out special boxes if needed
7. Stay Hydrated and Safe
·- Keep bottled water or cold drinks on hand
·- Open windows for ventilation if it’s hot
·- Don’t try to lift heavy items alone — watch your step
8. Keep Kids and Pets Safe
·- Ask a friend or family member to watch them if possible
·- Keep them away from loading areas during the move
·- Have snacks or comfort toys ready to reduce anxiety
A small list, a big difference.
With these simple steps, you can avoid last-minute stress and focus on a smooth arrival at your new home.
