How to Pack Fridges, Kitchen Items & Fragile Goods
Packing tips:
- Use small boxes for plates, bowls, and mugs — don’t overfill
- Wrap sharp knives in towels or use blade covers
- Seal spice bottles with cling wrap and place upright in boxes or bags
- Stack pans inside one another, using towels in between to prevent scratches
- Place loose items like utensils and openers in zip bags first
Label boxes clearly: For example, “Kitchen – Fragile” to alert movers.
3. Packing Fragile Items (glassware, ceramics, decorations, etc.)
Use the right materials:
- Bubble wrap, thick towels, or clothes for cushioning
- Small boxes with padding inside (e.g., newspaper or clothing)
- Dish pack boxes are best if available
Packing techniques:
- Pack plates vertically, like records — better shock resistance
- Pack glasses upside-down, stuff with paper to protect rims
- Wrap each item individually to prevent contact
Label examples:
- Fragile – Glassware
- This Side Up – Do Not Stack
- Handle with Care
